2 Tips for Better Basslines from Your Car Stereo System

Some of us love our music, especially the genres such as drum and bass.  There is nothing better than driving around on a Sunday afternoon listening to your drum and bass whilst taking in the scenery of this great British country. Sure, it might annoy the neighbours from time to time, but as long as you stay out of residential areas, there is nothing wrong blasting your stereo full pelt -  it's only you that will hear it after all.

Tip 1: Make the correct choice of speakers

Clearly, to get the most enjoyment out of your music, you need to listen to it using devices that can pick up all of the frequencies and tones. The best way to do this is to have dedicated speakers that can cater to the low, medium, and high frequency sounds.

To do this, you have to make sure that you buy the right speakers. First, most speakers will have a woofer and a tweeter (either in case of a single unit or as separates).  This is the bare minimum to get a decent range of sound from your music system.  The woofer will notice the median frequency sound waves and the tweeter will notice the high-frequency soundwaves.

But what about the low-frequency sound waves?  These are often omitted from car stereos because it means having an extra speaker. To pick up low-frequency sound waves, you need a subwoofer, and more specifically, a car sub and amp package

The reason they are not used as the standard in cars is that they have to take up quite a lot of space because the speakers need to be large to produce the low-frequency sounds. This means that having such a speaker in your car will reduce the amount of usable space. In other words, you have to decide whether you prefer to have a good range of music in your car or more space.

If you are very much into your music, then you really need a subwoofer and if you're reading this article, it's because you want more bass, and the only way to get more bass in your car is to have a subwoofer.

Tip 2: Buy an Amplifier

Because you are adding an extra speaker to your car stereo system, you need extra power to go from the head unit to the speakers or the signal from your head unit will distort and this leads to problems with the sound. For example, if your system doesn't have enough power, you can find that your music comes in and out and gets quieter and louder seemingly at random.

To ensure that your car stereo has enough power to drive the subwoofer, woofers, and tweeters, you have to buy a car sub and amp package. This includes both the subwoofer and the amplifier. By having both, you ensure that you can listen to the bass lines without affecting the quality of the music/signal.

These 2 tips will really help you to make the most out of your music and to get those baselines pumping once and for all.
